YES Day

So it is Memorial Day weekend here and we have nothing planned. It is wonderful. I feel a nap situation coming on this afternoon if it all works out well.

However, we are doing something. Sometimes I feel that all I say to the children is no - no to what they want to do, no to what they want to eat, no to having child fun. So today, if the children ask Michael or me a question, we have to say yes whatever the request. Financial and safety concerns are the only considerations allowed (and we'll see what gets added to this list by the end of the day). The children are somewhat handicapped as they obviously have not been told the rules of the game or even that there is a game.

It is currently 10am and so far we have gotten off lightly. Activities agreed to have involved pancake breakfast in front of the telly, playing on the iPad while playing on the Wii and for the last 20 minutes Michael has been sitting watching Will play Wii (he has not been asked to play, just if he could watch Will play).

We aren't sure where the day will take us - it will depend on whether Thing 1 and Thing 2 cotton on to the fact that we are open for business in doing whatever they ask us to do.  I am hoping there will be frozen deserts involved at some point in the day!
