Zilker Park

We have spent the morning in Austin. We wanted to go to Barton Springs which is a natural water hole in Austin's beautiful Zilker Park, but the website said it was closed on Thursday's for cleaning. Typical.

As we have a very long drive today, we decided to hit the park anyway to have a wander about and burn off some energy. But we got lucky and the pool was open and it was fabulous. Will talked at other children in the pool and Morgan jumped in off the diving board.

After the swim, a quick playground run around, we had snow cones (ice and flavored syrup), which the under 8 set decided to wear. One quick change of clothes later, we are now on the road to Albuquerque. A delightful drive of about 700 miles through western Texas scrubland. We are all super excited at the prospect.

  1. I love that you described what a snow cone is.... and the inevitable mess!
